    Marie Veronique FAQs

With the Marie Veronique line, there are sometimes two products that are both good for the same issue (i.e. Barrier Restore Serum or Soothing B3 for rosacea?); a few general comments:

    • if after reading all the info and doing the quiz you're still confused please reach out to us and we'll be happy to help!
    • sometimes people get caught up on picking the one best option for a skin issue, but often there's more than one option for the same skin concern and they are both great choices- compare it to both blueberries and cherries being really great for your health; one is not better than the other, but they are both helpful in slightly different ways (so you can't make a bad choice if you just pick one - or of course you can use both together as well)
    • clients often want anti-aging benefits but also struggle with redness, acne, etc. We always suggest first taking care of balancing and repairing your skin and then focusing on anti-aging once your skin can handle those stronger anti-aging ingredients(but luckily with MV, many of the skin barrier improving products also have some anti-aging benefits as well so you're still getting some before you move on to the heavy hitters like Vit C and Retinol)

Layer in immediate succession for best results and layering no more than three serums at a time.

    • Thinnest to thickest is usually a good rule.
    • There are a few serums that do have special instructions. For example, if you are using Intensive Repair Serum, it should be applied first in your evening routine followed by one of our retinol serums. Also, Barrier Restore Serum should also always be the last serum to be applied prior to your hydrator (ie. oil, lotion, cream).
    • Multi-Retinol Emulsion is the exception and is not applied before your moisturizer but afterwards (as your last layer)

Retinol is the only product that should be avoided while pregnant or breastfeeding; using a Vit C serum would be a great alternative during those times.

The Marie Veronique spf is designed to be applied after your facial oil moisturizer, so:

    • cleanser / toner / serum / moisturizer / spf

While the Marie Veronique products are not inexpensive, we strongly believe they are worth the investment if skin health is a priority for you. Some ideas for making them go further are:

    • alternating days on products (ie. if you want to use a Vit C serum but can't buy one too often then use it every other day instead of daily)
    • forgo whatever products are not absolute necessities (maybe a toner isn't a must in your routine?) Depends on your skin issues - ask us to see what the bare minimum you can use would be.
    • ask for them as presents for holidays or birthdays!
    • or if it simply isn't in the budget at this time, then ask us for recommendations on other brands that may be more economical (maybe you get a cleanser from another brand but splurge on a retinol - as an example)

Please fill out the (free) Skincare Consultation quiz; knowing details about your skin type and skin concerns will help us to make better recommendations for you. :)
