How WalaVita Dental Care All Began

Life surrounds human beings so naturally and yet it is at once both fascinating and mysterious. Who can comprehend the essence of life?

What is life? The chemist Dr. Rudolf Hauschka (1891-1969), WALA's founder, was intrigued by this question. In 1924 he approached Dr. Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), the founder of anthroposophy, who gave him the answer that pointed him in the right direction:

"Study rhythms.
Rhythm carries life."

In the search for new ways of preparing medicines this answer fell on fertile ground. Rudolf Hauschka succeeded in preparing a water-based plant extract which would keep for many years without the addition of preservatives.

He achieved this by incorporating nature's rhythms in the manufacturing process. Thus, in 1929, he prepared the first water-based rose extract which would keep for more than 30 years.

The medicines prepared by Rudolf Hauschka from these water-based plant extracts were so well received by doctors that in 1935 the first WALA laboratory was founded in Germany. The rhythmic manufacturing process gave the newly founded company its name:

WALA is the acronym of the procedures warmth - ash light - ash.
